The ITG simple guide to IP Telephony

Here’s what’s wrong with conventional telephony and how IP telephony can fix it:

Conventional problem: Firstly it's the lines. You need one for each simultaneous call out and one each simultaneous call in. Need to have 10 of your people phoning out and be able to answer 10 incoming calls with no busy signals – that's 20 lines. You pay for them all even if you hardly ever use them all at once or you may miss that vital incoming business call. Conventional lines are around £15.00 per month, every month, with a 12month minimum contract.

IP Telephony Solution: Don't have any physical lines, just a high quality SDSL internet connection. You no longer need dozens of costly conventional telephone lines to ensure all your staff can call out and still answer every incoming call with no busy signals. Simply install an internet connection appropriate for the size of your business and apply virtual 'lines' over the top which are called SIP Trunks.
